Diva
Update! We have met the $1800 challenge! Thank you to all of you that have contributed to Diva!
Diva looks at the world a bit differently than the rest of us.
For her, life is seen through a frosty glass.
It was not that way at first. When she was young, all was bright and clear. Slowly, over the years, what was sharp and focused became a blur, a shadow of what it was. She can smell it. She can touch it. She can hear it.
But she can't see it anymore. It's all faded and the world is wrapped in a thick fog. Soon, even the fog will disappear, replaced by the blankness of blindness.
Let's lift the fog before it's too late.
Diva is a 9 year old standard poodle. Born in a West Virginia puppy mill, she was purchased at 5 weeks. At first all was well but her owner had an illness called animal hoarding. After a few years, the sickness took over and finally officials stepped in and said "no more." Her house was condemned and she was ordered to find places for the animals to go or the animals would be seized.
Diva came to Carolina Poodle Rescue. At 9 she is no spring chicken but she certainly has more than a few years left in her. She would be so much more of a companion if she could see who she was keeping company with.
An angel named Andree would like to see that happen for Diva. She feels so strongly about it that she has pledged $ 1800 of the $ 3400 quote needed for Diva's Cataract surgery if we can find matching funds. Call it double your money, two for the price of one, or simply jackpot that's a heck of an offer.
You can help make it happen. Throw $ 10 Diva's way and it'll become $ 20. Where else can you get a return like that?
To make a donation, please click on the "donate" link on the top of this page. As always, your donations are tax deductible.
If we can raise the funds, Diva is on the schedule for surgery September 7, 2011. Only two more weeks!

Ps -After her surgery, Diva will be seeking a perfect home. Could it be yours?
