Happy Holidays!!!
Warm In The Kennel
A note from Donna Dear Friends and Supporters, Just coming out of Thanksgiving, those of us here at Dreamweaver Farms have more to be thankful for then we ever have before. Our kennel is up and running. We've had close to 100 dogs come through this year. Adoptions are strong and volunteers are more dedicated than ever. Thank you from me for all of you love and support. You guys are the best. Donna Dear Santa's Helpers! On December 10 & 17, we have an opportunity to put some money in Carolina Poodle Rescue's coffers. We will be taking pictures at PetSmart of pets and Santa. We need 3 more volunteers. We have a Santa each weekend but need 3 Santa elves. Most groups average $200-$300 per Sunday. The pictures are taken from 11-4 on each Sunday. Please let us know if you are up to being jolly!
Our Adoptable Dog of the Month Meet Dinah
Hi my name is Dinah and I was found by an animal shelter wondering the streets, dirty, scared and hungry. My foster Mom rescued me and has worked hard to get me in tip top shape .I even graduated from doggie school!!! I prefer to be the center of attention and dont share my foster Mom or toys well with other dogs, cats or children. I need an owner who understands and will have patience with my stubborn streak. Im a great guard dog and will bark at anything out of the ordinary. My wish would be to curl up in your lap, be pampered, brushed, take a nice long stroll on my leash then stretch out beside you in bed and snooze under the covers. I will sit for snacks and even dance like a ballerina! Oh, I also walk on my two front feet in a handstand when I potty because I dont want to step in anything Im a very unique lady looking for the perfect forever home

How Shampoo
Works The basis for proper cleaning is most often thought to be in direct relation to suds and the amount of bubbly foam produced from the foaming agents within the shampoo. It would appear, to the consumer, that the more the shampoo sudsed and bubbled, the cleaner it would make the skin and coat of their dog. This is, in all actuality, not true. Thick suds literally choke off the cleaning action. Explaining the types and size of bubbles may help clarify how shampoo actually cleans. Suds are air bubbles that are completely surrounded with a minuscule electrical charge which attract water molecules to hold dirt and sebum (oil) in suspension. The larger the surface area of the bubble, the greater is its capacity to hold water and suspend dirt. As a result, the dirt and oil are successfully rinsed away. Lower sudsing products create the bigger bubbles which more efficiently deliver the cleaning agents, and allow the water to remove the dirt and oil. The smaller, yet more sudsy feeling bubbles have much less surface area available to do the job. The thick suds have lots of little bubbles. When you lather up the thick suds, you must rinse some off and dilute the solution before you get much cleansing action. You have to rinse excessively, because those tiny bubbles cannot hold much water on their surface. Little bubbles, and lots of them, create a foamy feel and appearance, thus choking off the cleaning action. There are three main, active ingredients for cleaning in a basic shampoo: (1) surfactants that loosen the dirt from the skin and coat; (2) emulsifiers that place the dirt and oil into suspension; and (3) water which is the carrying agent that removes the suspended dirt and oil. The other active ingredients treat specific needs for the coat and skin, such as, antibacterial agents or Tea Tree oil. Many manufactures add thickening agents in the form of excessive sodium to give the illusion that thicker is better. They also add extra foaming agents to satisfy those who think more suds mean better cleaning ability. These manufactures are feeding the public misconceptions and, in return, selling them a product that has inferior cleaning ability. The additives in these products are usually also the culprits causing many of our skin problems seen in dogs today.

Help Wanted Volunteer local to Pacolet SC with a digital camera. Donna needs help with dog profile sheets and photos of new poodles. You'll be coming to Dreamweaver Farms at least weekly to take photographs and get to know the poodles, copy medical information and input into our profile sheet, write petfinder descriptions and get those to Deb Poston and Donna. This will speed up our adoptions tremendously. Volunteers local to Pacolet SC who have a valid driver's license. We need drivers. With vet appointments at least once per week and the need to pick up dogs at local shelters and bring to Dreamweaver Farms, we need more hands willing to drive. Vehicle and fuel available to those who can commit. Thanks,
The Rainbow Bridge Dedicated to those who have passed over "Spinner" Rose Ciaravino in Manassas, VA.
