Meet Nicolette and Maggie B.!
  Nicolette
and Maggie B. are sisters. They first came to Carolina
Poodle Rescue in 2008 from a hoarding situation. They were
adopted into a loving home and lived happily for almost 10
years, then their adopter became ill and unable to care for
the girls. Sadly their owner had to give them up. The girls
are back at Dreamweaver Farms at 11 years old and wanting so
much to be in another home of their own!
Nicolette is the gray poodle and Maggie B. is a silver
beige. Both are such sweet girls. They are happy to meet
anyone and all that they want is a quiet home. They love to
relax and to get attention. They make great companions for
t.v. watching or reading. Both love to snuggle and have the
nicest manners. Nicolette is the more outgoing of the two
and Maggie B. has a calm, gentle temperament. They depend on
each other so they cannot be separated. They must be adopted
together.
All they need is a chance to show someone how they grace a
home, making it welcoming and warm. Their two faces greeting
their person as they walk through the door! They are so
appreciative and easy to care for. They bond easily with
people and would be devoted to a new owner or owners. Please
consider giving these sweet sisters a new home.

Juliette's Adoption

 Juliette
came to us as Juliet with another poodle named Romeo.
Romeo has his own story, but this is Juliette's.
In March 2016, Juliette was surrendered to a shelter. Both
she and Romeo were older pets, but Juliette was pregnant
and she had an injured back leg. Sadly, Juliette's puppies
did not survive and we learned that Juliette's injured leg
needed to be amputated. She recovered well at Dreamweaver
Farms and then came to the Krauss home to be fostered.
After coming to our home, Juliette had another major
medical hurdle. When preparing to spay Juliette in July,
we learned her mammary chain had many tumors. A partial
mastectomy was done and Juliette recovered from yet
another major surgery. In the fall, we noticed Juliette
was favoring one of her front legs, and we learned she had
arthritis. Pain medication was started; we were very
careful with the amount of exercise she received. Juliette
responded well to the medication.
 When
Romeo was adopted, Juliette never missed a beat. While
once she had lashed out at other pets who got close when
she was resting, she now didn't mind sharing a blanket
with another pet. She had proven excellent at house
training so she was not confined when I worked. She had
many beds in front of windows and I could tell that she
moved from one to another during the day. She learned my
husband gave snacks so she stayed close to hubby, getting
an extra snack at bedtime.
I will admit, my husband and I were surprised when there
was interest in adopting Juliette. After speaking with
potential adopters a couple of times and having it not
work out, we considered keeping Juliette. Donna Ezzell,
with her wonderful knowledge and abundant experience,
reminded me I was Juliette's voice and, while someone
could qualify to adopt Juliette, I needed to make sure I
found the PERFECT home for Juliette, so we decided to talk
with one more applicant.
Deb was delighted when I contacted her. Deb had lost a
poodle two years ago and was just now beginning her search
for another pet. I shared in detail Juliette's history,
her current medical condition and the cost of her care.
Deb never hesitated, she really wanted to meet Juliette.
One Saturday morning, Deb came. We discussed Juliette's
medication and Juliette's behavior when she tired. Deb
asked a thousand questions. It was a wonderful meet and
greet. So Juliette left, understandably a little nervous,
but Deb had boiled chicken in a cooler to offer as treats.
Juliette definitely perked up for the treats.
So precious Juliette is in a great home, further learning
to be someone's very special pet. Juliette will be an only
pet and receive all the attention, which is exactly
perfect for her.

Rusty--the
Little Red Dog (A Rescue Tale)
 Rusty--the
Little Red Dog is a wonderful children's book about
a Carolina Poodle Rescue dog, Rusty, that tells his story.
It is a great educational tale about rescues and puppy
mills for young children (and for adults who don't know).
All profits of the sales for this book go to CPR to help
other rescue dogs!
This book would make a wonderful
gift to any young children you know, and grandchildren
and a great donation to your favorite elementary school,
church, hospital, day care, Boy's Club, Girl's Club or
any other organization for children. Please consider
buying several and sharing them throughout your
community. The younger the kids are when they learn
about rescue and puppy mills, the more progress we can
make toward supporting rescues and stopping puppy mills!
